A sign of life…

A sign of life…

Hi guys! It’s been a while since our last post. We’ve been traveling for 3 weeks with my cousin in October. We explored a big part of Java and the island of Flores together. Wonderful Indonesia! Now that we are back home it’s time for “kerja, kerja, kerja” like the Indonesian president “Djokowi” would say. That means “work, work, work”. We have started to inventorize the store bit by bit. It’s still going to take a very long time but…

Why we spammed you with emails to avoid spam!

Why we spammed you with emails to avoid spam!

Lately, we’re getting a lot of spam on our website. Comments that are meaningless and coming from spam mail addresses about car rental, tricking us to buy stuff or other marketing related things. To avoid this I made some changes to our website that you probably already noticed 🙂 You will get a lot of emails from us in the next hours. Sorry about that! On the other hand, it gives you the chance to catch up on our posts…

Selamat datang di Indonesia!

Selamat datang di Indonesia!

After a bumpy ride, I made it to Indonesia around 3 weeks ago. I’m still integrating and struggling with the language but my bowel system seems to have adapted to the local cuisine. Fingers crossed… Some of our readers wondered where I ended up exactly. How is your life now? What changed and how is life different there?… Well, life is quite different here to say the least. The food, the culture, the people, the mindset, the habits. Many things for…

How I barely made it to Indonesia

How I barely made it to Indonesia

Initially, I didn’t feel like writing about this. It’s only when I couldn’t get it out of my head after more than a week, I thought writing might help me process the experience better…. Last week I entered Indonesia, barely… I was transferring ETIHAD flights in Abu Dhabi coming from Brussels. After seven hours of waiting in Abu Dhabi, we were ready to board an 8-hour flight towards Jakarta. From there I would take a six-hour train to what I would…

It’s time for some hypocrisy

It’s time for some hypocrisy

Driving into the last five hypocritic weeks of our trip we decided to use the car as our main mode of transport. Mostly to reach the remote natural places. Quite contradictive that in our modern society we need one of the most polluting ways of transport to reach the most beautiful natural places. By taking the car we do realize we are putting more pressure on our planet. We could have used public transport for some of the places we…

The good, the bad and the ugly…

It’s been a while since our last post and we know it! Therefore we are treating you with a massive post about our 3 weeks in Morocco. Our first time in Africa was beyond expectations and it has grown into an experience we will never forget… Tangier It was truly our first time stepping into Africa, the land of our ancestors where humanity originally came from. Morocco was our choice since we heard lots of good things about it. Coming from…

Family matters…

Family matters…

Ola!! Long time no hear and we have our reasons… In the end of May we explored Northern Portugal and Galicia together with Janick’s mom. Focusing on the natural parks and places inaccessible by public transport, we decided to rent a small car. This time we’re traveling more family style for 9 days. We started with a good hike in passadiços do Paiva, an 8.7 km wooden boardwalk along the bank of the Paiva river in Northern Portugal. Truly a…

Portugal!

Portugal!

The Portugal pictures are now online! Our favorite experience was obviously the Rota Vicentina, on which we wrote a dedicated post. That is bucket list material! Faro, Lagos and Sagres were surprisingly nice, but for us it was all about the surroundings, not the cities themselves. If you are ever in or near Lisbon, Sintra is definitely a must. It’s much nicer and so unique. We don’t really like Lisbon after seeing such a fairytale place like Sintra. Enjoy!
